ESC-20 LIFT/IS Component Days

This session explores how coaching can move beyond simply being “nice” to being both kind and direct—creating clarity, trust, and stronger outcomes for students. Participants will examine how well-intentioned feedback can sometimes lose its impact when it avoids honesty, and how combining compassion with clear, actionable guidance leads to more meaningful growth.
Through reflection and practical strategies, attendees will learn how to communicate with warmth while still being precise and purposeful. The focus is on shifting from comfort-driven interactions to impact-driven coaching conversations that support student success. By the end of the session, participants will understand how being kind and direct—like a coach of an all star team—amplifies influence, strengthens relationships, and ultimately improves student outcomes.
